World TB Day to be observed tomorrow on 24th of March

Lahore: World Tuberculosis  Day is being observed today on March 24^th throughout the world. Provincial TB Control Program, Punjab Health Department has designed a comprehensive communication strategy to create awareness among the general public regarding TB diagnosis, care and treatment. Multiple intervention are planned to observe the World TB Day by using different means like media, inter-personal communications to targeted population deliver the TB message.

In this regard, inaugural ceremony is scheduled to be held on Thursday, 24^th March, at 3:30 PM in Jillani Park (Race Course), Jail Road. Advisor to the Chief Minister on Health, Kh. Salman Rafique and senior Officers of the department, international development partners including WHO, celebrities, showbiz artists will attend the function.

Provincial TB Control Program has also arranged a seminar to sensitize the target population through media, several road shows are planned through a mobile theatre for interpersonal communication in all over Punjab to deliver the TB message for provincial and control TB. The celebrities, artists shall visit different cities of Punjab on the mobile theatre where they will conduct shows in a lighten way through performing art. on the day of, the mega show a chess camp will also be established in that area for collection of sputum with the help of district health officers and partners.
