Lahore: Vice Chairman Punjab Overseas Commission, Shaheen Butt has said that the Commission has retrieved precious land of hundreds of overseas Pakistanis from the land grabbers and illegal occupants. He was addressing a reception hosted in his honor by the journalists and writers, here today, which was attended by overseas Pakistanis belonging to different walks of life.
Shaheen Butt said that the idea of this Commission was envisioned by Chief Minister Punjab during exile where he witnessed the problems of overseas Pakistanis closely.
Editor Daily Pakistan Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, addressing on the occasion, said that protection of interests of overseas Pakistanis is the responsibility of the government and such Commission should have been set up much earlier. However, present government deserves appreciation on setting up of this Commission and prayed for its success.
Besides other participants, Momin Agha, Amjad Islam Amjad, Asad Ullah Ghalib, Hafeez Ullah Niazi, Neelam Ahmed Bashir, Sughra Sadaf, Shehla Alla-ud-Din, Asma Bajwa, Waqas Riaz, Abdul Razzaq Malik, Qayyum Khosa, Shabbir Mughal and Muhammad Farrukh attended the reception. Commissioner Punjab Overseas Commission Afzaal Bhatti, addressing the reception, narrated the details of the performance of the Commission. He said that the officers and officials working in the Commission are discharging their duties as a mission.
