Lahore: Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that people working for health care of others also need to keep themselves hale and hearty so as to fight forcefully against diseases. For this purpose, doctors, medical students and paramedics should enthusiastically participate in sports and other healthy activities.
He expressed these views during prize distribution function held at Punjab Stadium in connection with the annual sports day of Ameer ud Din Medical College, here today.
General (R) Zia-ud-Din Khawaja said that sports and physical activities are the best way to develop confidence among students which also spawn will- power, forbearing and courage to go forward in life among youth. He said that only those nations lead the world which focus to polish the talent of their nation through encouraging their mental and physical energies. He said that a country having better men power would definitely become international leader. He stressed the students to act upon the sayings of Quaid e Azam by adopting habits of working hard and serving the humanity with a passion of love for country.
Prof. Khalid Mahmood hoped that the sports festival of Ameer ud Din Medical College and PGMI would go a long way to improve the working capacity and concentration on duties of the doctors and nurses who keep serving humanity day and night. He said that all possible opportunities are being provided to the doctors and nurses for extracurricular activities in order to enable them fight effectively against diseases and serve humanity vigorously.
