Lahore: Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association on Thursday said POEPA can send large number of unemployed people abroad enabling them to earn a decent living.
Job promoters should be provided facilities so that they can send manpower abroad to reduce unemployment in the country and help country earn hefty foreign exchange, said Ch. Muhammad Afzal, Chairman POEPA.
In a statement issued here today, he said that just demands of overseas employment promoters should be accepted so that they can serve country with peace of mind.
He said that those going abroad to serve their families and country should get tax, fee and other relaxations to boost positive trend of overseas employment.
Muhammad Afzal demanded that promoters should not be ignored or harassed as it damages work environment. He also called for empowering concerned ministry and other departments to streamline working environment.
National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) should ensure timely issuance of National Identity Cards to the Overseas Pakistanis and practice of collecting urgent fee should be abolished in the national interest.
Delay in the processing of CNICs for those going overseas must be noticed, he underlined.
He said that all the important vacancies lying vacant in the ministry of overseas Pakistanis should be filled immediately, licencing and visa issues of job promoters should be resolved by the government and merit should be followed in posting of community welfare and labour attaches.
