Four robbers looted Rana Azeem goldsmith shop in Malakwal

Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : Four robbers the other day took away cash amounting to Rs three thousand hundreds, mobiles phones and other precious items from shop of Rana Azeem goldsmith, situated in goldsmith bazaar in Malakwal. It was broad daylight and people in hundreds present in the Bazaar witnessed the occurrence. No resistance was offered when the shop was being looted. Police on receipt of information reached the spot and further investigation to trace the culprits is in progress. Video footage of the incident would be great help in the investigation, Police said.

Meanwhile on the directions of DCO Muzaffar Sial, Regional Transport Officer Faryal Fakhar challaned 141 transport drivers for not complying government fixed transport fare and fine them to the tune of Rs sixty five thousand. Soon after decrease in POL prices Government reduced transport fare proportionately and affixed fare list on transport Addas.

Despite crackdown against overcharging passengers, the transport owners continue overcharging, the passengers reported. Rickshaw drivers raised fare up to Rs 20 per passenger from Bus Adda to Judicial complex; it 5 kilometer distance from Bus Adda to Judicial complex. They are still charging at the same rate despite the fact that Petrol price has come down to Rs 64 from Rs 108 per liter.
