PML-N is trying to block census in the country: Dr Yasmin Rashid

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman’s advisor Dr Yasmin Rashid has said the PML-N is trying to block census in the country so that people continue grappling in the dark.

She said the dream of people’s progress, prosperity as well as health and education facilities could never be fulfilled without conducting census. She said only fresh census could ensure that the people living in respective provinces and districts get their due rights and development funds.

Talking to different delegations at her office on Sunday, Dr Yasmin said the census should be organised at the earliest so that people could be given their due rights and nobody should feel sense of deprivation. However, she said, the PML-N was reluctant to hold census because after the exercise, it would be required to increase seats in assemblies and due distribution of available resources.

She said the PTI strongly condemn the incumbent government’s stubbornness for not announcing holding the census immediately. She said the rulers did not want to devolve power but enjoy absolute power and added, “this situation can never be accepted”.She said the PML-N was running the government as a one-man show but the people would throw them out with the power of their votes in the next elections. She said the PTI would form the next government.

Dr Yasmin said the PTI was doing politics according to the wishes of masses and would continue serving masses instead of watching vested interests. She said the PTI under the leadership of Imran Khan would soon succeed and bring real change in the country. She said only change in status quo would help bring positive change in the country. She said the PTI would eliminate corruption and solve masses’ problems after coming into power
