Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Provincial government has started a number of programs for the empowerment of the youth, which are yielding positive results for the progress of the youth, their empowerment and provision of job opportunities.
He said that Punjab government has also decided to launch E-Job Training Program, which will play an important role in the provision of respectable job opportunities to the youth. He said that ‘E-Job Training Program’ will play an important role in providing honourable jobs to the youth. He was addressing a meeting at Civil Secretariat through video link today, in which, the implementation of programs for empowering youth was reviewed.
The Chief Minister said that youths can ensure bright future of Pakistan and provision of resources for empowering them is a useful investment in the future of the country. He said that all out resources would be provided for this purpose. He said that imparting training for provision of digital jobs is need of the hour. He said that youth will be further empowered by imparting training in information technology to them under E-Job Training Program. Shehbaz Sharif directed steering committee to evolve a program and finalized recommendations in this regard at the earliest. He said that sixty percent population of the country comprises youth and they are our national asset. He said that the destiny of the country and the nation can be changed by empowering the youth. He said that the implementation of Skills Development Program is continuing successfully for providing jobs to the youth and enabling them to stand on their own feet. The Chief Minister said that training in various skills has been provided to thousands of youth under this program so far. He said that the pace of development of the country can be accelerated through promotion of information technology. He said that Punjab government has taken effective steps for promotion of information technology and E-Job Training Program is a part of it, under which, youth will be equipped with modern technology. Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board Dr. Umar Saif gave a briefing about the basic features of E-Job Training Program. Provincial Ministers Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Ch. Muhammad Shafiq, Ayesha Ghous Pasha, Additional Chief Secretary, concerned secretaries, Chairman PVTC and concerned officials attended the meeting from Civil Secretariat through video link.
