Lahore: Chairman Punjab IT Board (PITB) Dr. Umar Saif said that the Punjab Government was distributing Rs. 2.0 billion financial assistance per annum under CMKhidmat Card Scheme through PITB designed software to ensure transparent, prompt and easier payment among 2 lac handicapped of the province. It was stated by him during a meeting held at Arfa Software Technology Park on Friday.
He said “the software was designed and implemented in collaboration with the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) that was doing all tasks electronically such as issuance of Khidmat card, registration of handicapped persons and management of a large number of transactions. An amount of Rs. 16.52 million has been credited to the accounts of more than 46000 beneficiaries after bio-metric verification.”
He told that the mode of receiving the money had been made very easy as one can obtain it either from ATM of any bank or mobile phone money transfer facility by using his/her Khidmat Card.
“It is a unique initiative taken by the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for the welfare of the disabled persons across the Punjab and the PITB is using smart technology to make it a success.” He added.
