Punjab govt sets up ten mobile schools for gypsies in Cholistan

Rana MashhoodRana MashhoodLahore: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that ten mobile schools have been set up for the children of gypsies in Cholistan. He said that government teachers have been 125 CC motorcycle and petrol for providing education to the children of gypsies in far-flung areas. He said that 75 educational institutions are already providing education at the platform of Punjab Education Foundation in Cholistan.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of Punjab Education Foundation, here today. MD PEF Tariq Mehmood, Chairman PEF Qamar-ul-Islam Raja and concerned officers attended the meeting. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that Parho Punjab—Barho Punjab Programme of Chief Minister Punjab is playing an important role in providing education in Punjab.

He said that Education Department is assisting financially to the parents by providing free books and other material to the children in schools of Punjab Education. He said that Punjab Education Foundation is providing educational facilities in far-flung areas through setting up small private schools. He said that PEF schools are playing a key role in promoting education at basic level particularly in South Punjab. He said that the credit of best performance of PEF schools running with the cooperation of private sector in South Punjab goes to the educational vision of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
