Women caucus passed a resolution for the approval of violence bill

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Women Development, Hameeda Waheed ud Din has said that women caucus can play an important role for the development of women and resolving their problems.

She was addressing a meeting of women caucus at Punjab Assembly, here today. The meeting was presided over by Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Begum Zakia Shahnawaz. Officer bearers of the caucus Dr. Farzana, Tehseen Fawad, Saadia Suhail, Women Members Punjab Assembly and Secretary Women Development Dr. Amna Imam were present on the occasion.

Dr. Farzana gave a briefing regarding performance of caucus, future strategy and further activation of caucus. Hameeda Waheed ud Din lauded the performance of the caucus and stressed upon Women Assembly Members to further accelerate the awareness campaign regarding women rights in their respective areas. The meeting also discussed the bill for curbing violence against women.

A unanimous resolution was also adopted for approval of violence bill at the earliest. The meeting also prayed for the earlier recovery of MPA Kanwal Nauman.
