Lahore: Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that it is ultimate mission of the Punjab Employees Social Security Institute (PESSI) to provide medical care and cash benefits to secured industrial workers and their dependents. Unused land of the institute should be utilized for up gradation and establishment of multi-purpose offices to enhance this facility along with capacity building of its recovery officers.
He stated this during a visit of different sections of Directorate of Social Security Gulberg, Lahore along with Commissioner Social Security Mansoor Qadir, here today. Director Social Security Gulberg Babar Abbas Khan, Director Development Naveed Anjum Khokhar and other concerned officers of the directorate were also present on this occasion.
Minister Labour Raja Ashfaq Sarwar directed Commissioner PESSI to submit actionable proposals for the proper use of more than 13 Canal land of the directorate as most of the land of directorate was not in use which could be utilized for betterment of labour community by establishing social security Offices and other related administrative purposes.
Raja Ashfaq Sarwar also directed the concerned officers to complete the auction of obsolete vehicles at the earliest and provide ambulances to different dispensaries of PESSI .He also presided a meeting of the officers of directorate and said that annual contributions and educational Cess targets should be achieved in given timeline so as to enhance medical and other social security facilities to labourers and their family members.
