Mujtaba Shuja inaugurates 3-day exhibition of furniture

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman today inaugurated 3-day exhibition of furniture under the aegis of Pakistan Furniture Council at Expo Center Lahore. The Minister visited different stalls and appreciated the quality of items and expertise of artisans.

Talking to the media, the Minister said that holding of national exhibition of furniture by Pakistan Furniture Council at Lahore is a good omen. He said expertise of carpenters are a proof to the fact that they are no less than anyone and can recognize themselves in international market if get opportunity. He said that district Chiniot has unique identity in the world due to wood furniture.

He said that Punjab government is making efforts to provide necessary facilities to skilled workers and manufacturers. He said that Punjab government has started a process of imparting different technical and professional courses to the youth so that this industry could make further progress and job opportunities will be available to the people.

Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman lauded the efforts of Pakistan Furniture Council for holding exhibition and expressed the hope that such opportunities will result in introducing the skill and culture of Pakistan at international level.
