Lahore: Director General Fisheries Punjab Dr. Muhammad Ayub has said that fish farmers should feed their fish according to its needs so that healthy and quality fish can be produced which is suitable for human health and brings better returns to the fish farmers.
He was talking to a delegation of fish farmers which met him at his office, here today.
Director Fisheries (Extension) Dr. Iftikhar Qureshi and Deputy Director Planning & Development Ansar Mehmood Chatha were also present.
DG Fisheries stressed upon the farmers to use proper feed for their fish and pay special attention to techniques of intensive culture so that maximum fish could be produced at the available space.
Dr. Muhammad Ayub further said that fish farmers should also check the quality of water in their ponds before feeding the fish as poor quality of water can affect fish growth and production. He also directed fish farmers to focus on such fish as rely on natural feed.
