Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : District Coordination Officer Muzaffar Khan Sial has said campaign against spurious medicine, adulterated food items and profiteering in markets will continue and there will be no break or interval in it.
He was addressing a meeting of administrative officers held at his office the other day to review performance of price control committee with regard to keeping prices stable in the market. He directed price controlling magistrates to initiate summary proceedings against those who after being fined again resort to overcharging and selling spurious medicines and adulterated food, and send them to jail under the law.
ADC Afzaal Warraich, AC s of all three Tehsils Mandi , Phalia and Malakwal, District Labor Officer, District Social Welfare Officer were present in the meeting. He however expressed satisfaction over performance of ACS who during crackdown fined and recovered Rs 380000 from culprits over charging and not displaying rates list in their shops.
While directing Drug Inspectors, he said checking of spurious medicines will continue in rural areas but more focus would be placed on medical stores located in major towns. Expressing his dissatisfaction over price control in Phalia tehsil, he said there is needed more improvement in checking to control overcharging customers by traders.
