Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz is laid to rest

funeral prayer of Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz being offeredLahore: The funeral prayer of former Director Institute of Communication Studies and former Public Relations Officer of Punjab University Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz was offered at New Campus jogging track.

PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, senior teachers of journalism including Dr Mehdi Hasan, Dr Shafiq Jullandhry, Dr Mujahid Mansoori, senior journalists including Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, Salman Ghani, Ata ur Rehman, Orya Maqbool Jan, Sajjad Mir, Najam Wali Khan, Naveed Chaudhry, Ajmal Jami, renowned social and political personalities including Raja Munawar, Chaudhry Akram, Ejaz Chaudhry, Liaqat Baloch, Farid Paracha, Ameer ul Azeem, public relations officers of various institutions, office-bearers of various journalist organizations, faculty members of ICS and thousands of students of Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz participated in the prayers.

Mr Liaqat Baloch led the prayer. In his condolence message, Dr Mujahid Kamran said that the Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz’s services in the field of journalism would be remembered. He said that his students were working in all the media organizations. He said that the participation of thousands of people in his funeral prayer was a proof their association with him.

Later, Dr Naz was buried in the university graveyard. Quran Khawani will be held on Saturday at 3:30pm at New Campus Colony’s mosque situated in E Block.Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies in-charge director Dr Noshina Saleem, all faculty, employees and students have expressed their heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of former director Dr Ahsan  Akhtar Naz. In mourning ICS remained closed on Friday and all faculty, employees members and employees and a large number of students participated in the funeral and burial of late Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz, who served the institute for around 26 years.

The ICS Faculty has prayed for the rest of the dearted soul and increase of his ranks in Janna and for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. The faculty and students would make a documentary on the life contributions of Dr Naz and organize a condolence reference in his memory.

The Quran Khawnai for the rest of the departed soul would be held on Saturday at 3:30 and jamia mosque E-block near his residence.

Meanwhile; Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of Dr. Ahsan Akhtar Naz, former Director Mass Communication Department Punjab University and father of Bilal Ahsan, Staff Reporter of Dunya News and Council Member Lahore Press Club.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
