Foolproof security arrangements of all tourist places should be made: Rana Mashhood

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Tourism Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has directed that foolproof security arrangements of all resorts, tourist places, archeological sites and sports grounds of Punjab Tourism Department should be made. He said that SoPs of Home Department should be implemented strictly.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of officials of Tourism, Sports, Archeology and Youth Affairs Departments in his office, today. A detailed briefing about these departments was given. Secretary Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology & Tourism Humayun Mazhar Sheikh was also present on the occasion.

Rana Mashhood said that special attention should be paid to the training of security guards and their weapons posted at tourist resorts and complete contact with local administration should be made in this regard. He declared implementation of SoPs of Home Department compulsory for security purposes.

In another meeting, the matter of up-gradation of Government College for Technology Rasool district Mandi Bahauddin to Technology University was discussed. Secretary Higher Education Department Irfan Ali, Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Nizam-ud-Din and Vice Chancellor UET as well as representatives of Industry Department and TEVTA attended the meeting. Decisions were taken with regard to setting up of various departments and syllabus of proposed university in the meeting.
