Doctors go on strike in Mandi Bahauddin after killing of Dr Shahid Nazir

Dr Shahid Nazir GondalMandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : A doctor was killed when he resisted with robbers attempting to kidnap his father. According to details Doctor Nazir Gondal was in office of his private Hospital attending patients. His son Shahid Nazir who is also doctor was in the adjacent room. It was evening time. In the meanwhile some armed persons entered the hospital and made an attempt to kidnap Doctor Nazir for ransom. Listening noise, Doctor Shahid Nazir rushed to save his father and resisted the culprits. The bandits opened fire on him. As result he was critically injured. The kidnappers escaped the scene after the occurrence. The injured was moved to DHQ Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile doctors in the district went on strike and closed all private clinic to condemn murder of the doctor. They held protest with black bands on their arms. They gave ultimatum that all hospitals and clinics would remain close if accused were not arrested within 24 hours. Dr Ijaz Malik was leading the protest demonstration in front of DHQ Hospital. However emergency remained open to attend critical cases.

Moreover, Ex-servicemen of the area held a function the other day at FM 98 radio station hall to show their solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren in their long struggle to liberate their land from India. Addressing the function ex-servicemen leaders prayed homage to those who laid down their lives in the struggle.

They praised Kashmiri freedom fighters for continuing their fight under odd conditions and bearing brutalities and coercion of Indian forces. They called upon world community including international organizations to take notice of Kashmir is plight and sufferings and build pressure on India for allowing plebiscites according to UNO several resolution to decide future of Kashmir’s.

Talking about government policy on Kashmir issue, they said since 1947 whole nation had been supporting cause of Kashmir’s and in this respect three battles were fought. Pakistan armed forces fought in 1947 and some portion of Kashmir was liberated called now AJK.

They further said we ex-soldiers hearts beat with hearts of Kashmir’s and they stand with them in their independence movement. They also called upon own rulers to give top priority to fight against terrorism to restore peace and stability in the country. They also urged politicians to stop bickering and blaming each other and cooperate with each to get united against inimical forces.

They said if our rulers get united and support armed forces strongly, we can a eliminate terrorism from our country and resolve Kashmir dispute as well. Those who addressed the function included Maj retired Sher Muhammad Gondal, Major retired Nasir Javed, Sub Sher Tarar, and SM Muhammad Bashir, Sub Zaman Ranjha, and Hav Mukhtar virk. At the end ex-service held collective prayer for prosperity and stability of the country.
