Secretary Forests constitutes Zoo Management Committees for Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur

Lahore: Provincial Secretary Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries Capt. ® Jehanzeb Khan in exercise of his powers vested under Rule 3&4 of the Punjab Zoos and Safari Parks Rules 2012, has constituted the Zoo Management Committees (ZMC) of Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur Zoos with immediate effect for a period of three years. Separate notifications of both committees, consisting of 11 members each, has been issued in this regard.

According to the notification of ZMC Dera Ghazi Khan, Director General Wildlife & Parks Punjab will be Chairperson and Deputy Director Wildlife Dera Ghazi Khan region will perform as Secretary of ZMC Dera Ghazi Khan. EDO Finance & Planning, District Government DG Khan, Head of Zoology Department, Govt. Post Graduate College, DG Khan, District Livestock Officer DG Khan and Deputy Director Fisheries DG Khan will be official members of  the ZMC whereas Syed Imran Shah, Hussain Adnan, Arshad Ali Khan Kakar, Agha Muhammad Humayun Khalid and Tayyaba Aziz were notified as non-official members.

As regards Bahawalpur ZMC, Director General Wildlife & Parks Punjab will be Chairperson and Curator, Bahawalpur Zoo will be Secretary. DPR Bahawalpur, Assistant Commissioner, DCO office, Bahawalpur, Incharge Divisional Diagnostic Laboratory, Livestock, Bahawalpur, Senior Member, Zoology Department of Life Sciences, Islamia University Bahawalpur will be the official members of the ZMC whereas Sh. Asif Aziz, Sher Zaman Abbasi, Ch. Basharat Ali Randhawa, Farhan Afzal Kanju and Miss Shaista Riaz Bhutta will be the non-official members of the ZMC.

Newly constituted Zoo Management Committees will review and look after matters of the Zoos and provide their services for the solution of the problems faced by Zoos. They will also be responsible to manage addition of animals at their concerned Zoos.
