Mandi Bahauddin observed 5th February as solidarity day with Kashmiris

Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal) : People of Mandi Bahauddin observed Friday as solidarity day with Kashmiris to highlight their cause and the need for resolution of the outstanding dispute as per aspiration of Kashmiri people.

In this connection District Government arranged a seminar at TMA Hall which was attended by members of civil society, ex-servicemen, and workers from several political parties including LG councilors. The seminar was presided over by Additional District Collector Afzaal Warraich while MPA Mahfooz Mashedi was the chief guest.

Addressing the seminar, Mahfooz Mashedi paid tributes to Kashmiris for their continuing struggle for right of self determination. He condemned Indians for forcibly occupying Kashmir and keeping its people under suppression since 1947. He called on World community to build pressure on India to hold plebiscite in Kashmir for deciding future of Kashmiris according to UNO resolutions. Kashmir is burning issue and without its resolution peace could not be restored in this region, he added. About Pakistani support, he said Kashmiris are their brethren and they stand with them shoulder with shoulder in their just struggle.

He however criticized Kashmir Committee for being inactive in its efforts for highlighting Kashmir issue and seeking support of world community for settling Kashmir issue. Afzaal Warraich in his speech saluted martyrs and freedom fighters for continuing fighting against Indian occupation forces to liberate their land. He said Pakistani nation will continue its moral, political, diplomatic support to Kashmiris till resolution of Kashmir dispute according to their wishes.
