Lahore: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has awarded “Best University Teacher Award 2014” to Punjab University Department of Mathematics Chairman Prof Dr Muhammad Sharif, in a ceremony held in Islamabad.
It is worth mentioning here that this is the second time he has won this award. Prof. Sharif has already been awarded Izaz-i-Fazeelat, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, Best University Teacher Award, Pakistan Academy of Sciences Gold Medal (twice) and Best Research Paper Award (twice).
He has been conferred the title of HEC Distinguished National Professor and has also been elected Fellow, PAS. His fields of interest include Gravitational theory, Astrophysics and Cosmology. He has 360 research papers in his credit with cumulative IF 700, citations 4070, h-index 31 and i10-index 147. He has delivered more than 72 seminars in different conferences at local and International level.
He has produced 15 PhD and 51 MPhil scholars and has been supervising number of MPhil and PhD students. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has congratulated him on his achievement.
