Low gas pressure continues to irk citizens of Mandi Bahauddin

Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal) : Low gas pressure continues to irk citizens of Mandi Bahauddin district to no avail.

Domestic users are the main sufferers. For the last two months gas pressure has been very low and the citizens repeated complaints to gas company have not been responded. House wives are badly affected who now have started cooking food with wood burning.

Price of wood is also beyond their capacity as it is very expensive, they said. Local trader’s members of civil society the other day held a meeting and decided to hold protest rally in case the gas company did not restore gas pressure. Citizens said claims of setting economy on right direction and similar other boasts of rulers have not benefitted common man so far.

They said they demand action from the government to at least provide them basic necessities of life like gas, electricity, protection to their life and property and justice. Only economy of rulers and their cronies was improving whereas the poor economy was going from bad to worse, they complained.

Talking about representatives of people, they said they were sleeping and closing eyes to people problems and difficulties. They have proved as complete failure to address people problems. About supply of electricity they said unscheduled power load shedding continues. Electricity remains off for 18 hours and it is visible for about 6 hours and that is not sure when it will come and go off. Situation of provision of electricity and gas is deteriorating day by day when it is swear cold.

The government has completely failed to come up to expectations of people, they added. Weather is extremely cold and fog is spread all over the district. Women are really feeling it almost impossible to prepare food for the family. Government has been in power for the last almost three years but due lack of its foresight people are facing shortage of Sui gas and electricity. Situation in other government departments is also worse. Every official is marking time by submitting ok reports to their bosses and getting benefits and privileges on the cost of public.
