Lahore: Provincial Minister for Population Welfare & Environment Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that tablets have been given to the Social Mobilizers throughout Punjab through which online performance of Family Health Clinics and attendance reports are being sent to the head office on daily basis. She said that online monitoring method is proving very useful, due to which, not only performance of the department is improving but ongoing awareness campaign of Population Welfare is being further accelerated. She said that at present equipments and medicines have been provided at all family health clinics and social mobilizers are counseling with the people about family planning in rural and urban areas.
She expressed these views during her surprise visit to the gynae ward of Service Hospital, here today. She also reviewed the treatment facilities being provided to the patients at center of excellence. The Provincial Minister also paid surprise visit to the family health clinic situated at Services Hospital. She also inspected classroom, ward and adolescent center.
She directed the staff to make special cleanliness management. She told that training is being imparted to 1100 LHVs at Basic Health Unit of Services Hospital and Health Department and Social Welfare Department are working jointly. Begum Zakia Shahnawaz met the counselors and directed them to convince the people politely and with arguments so that they could make proper family planning and interval in children.
Later, Dr. Atika, Chief Medical Officer while giving the briefing told that the family health clinic set up in 1984 has been organized on modern lines in 2015. She said that pick and drop facility is given to those visiting for getting awareness about family planning. She said that free medicines and surgery facility is also available. She said that psychologist and staff are working efficiently. In addition, two senior doctors, two theatre nurses, accountant, family welfare counselor, family welfare worker, clerk, two family welfare assistants and two mid-wives are also working at family health clinic.
