Misbah ul Haq,Usman Anwar,Zaheer Abbas discuss arrangement of match SBP XI vs PCB XI

Lahore: Sports Board Punjab (SBP) XI will take on PCB XI in a high-profile exhibition cricket match at Gaddafi Stadium on January 23, 2016. The exhibition match will be played under the aegis of Sports Board Punjab.

In this regard, an important meeting was held in National Hockey Stadium to review the arrangements of exhibition cricket match. ICC President Zaheer Abbas, Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar, MPA Ms Tahia Noon, PCB chief operating officer Subhan Ahmad, PCB Security Chief Col(r) Azam, Shafiq Papa, GM PTV Basharat Khan, Director DGPR Arif Chaudhary, DSP Gulbarg Nasir Bajwa, Ejaz Butt and top security officials attended the meeting.

Several leading cricketers will be in action during the high profile encounter. A large number of cricket enthusiasts are expected to watch the exciting cricket match. Moreover, several notable politicians, showbiz stars and other distinguished guests will also be present on this occasion.

The captain of Pakistan Test cricket team Misbahul Haq also had a meeting with Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar on Wednesday. During the meeting, the national skipper acknowledged the endeavors of Sports Board Punjab for the promotion of sports in the province.

Referring to SBP XI and PCB XI exhibition cricket match, Misbah said: “It’s very healthy activity and such matches should be played on regular basis”.

National Test cricket skipper further said that the establishment of cricket academies in major cities of Punjab will be very useful for the growth of cricket and other games in the province.
