Lahore: International Cricket Council (ICC) President Zaheer Abbas, after a detailed meeting with Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar, took charge of his office in Sports Board Punjab (SBP) on Tuesday.
Zaheer, as per his Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SBP, will supervise the functioning of cricket academies in all major cities of Punjab province.
During their meeting, both DG SBP Usman Anwar and ICC Chief Zaheer Abbas agreed to make combine efforts for the promotion of cricket and other sports in the province.
Zaheer Abbas, who is also a former captain of Pakistan cricket team, will supervise the establishment and functioning of sports academies in major cities of Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi and Sialkot besides raising a cricket academy at Kinnaird College for female cricketers.
