Punjab gives 484 million rupees for earthquake affectees of Awaran

Bilal YasinLahore: A 4-member delegation led by Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin presented relief package of 484 million rupees for earthquake affectees of Awaran on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri at a ceremony held in Quetta.

The delegation also conveyed the message of good wishes of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for the people of Balochistan. Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Sher Ali Gorchani, Senior Member Board of Revenue Capt. (R) Zahid Saeed, DG PDMA Jawad Akram, Director PDMA Nisar Ahmed Sani and other officers were present on the occasion.

Addressing the function, Food Minister Bilal Yasin said that Punjab government considers provision of help to the calamity-hit people as its responsibility and the people of Punjab will not leave their Balochi brethren alone in the hour of need. He said it is the message of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for the people of Balochistan that Punjab government will not rest content till complete rehabilitation of the earthquake affectees of Balochistan.

The Minister informed that Punjab government has announced relief package of 484 million rupees for earthquake affectees of Balochistan and in the first phase of the relief package of 220 million rupees, jobs are being provided to unemployed youth of district Awaran on internship basis with a sum of 132 million rupees. He said that under this programme, 550 graduate youth will be given a monthly honorarium of 20 thousand rupees.

Similarly, 85 million rupees will be spent at  District Headquarters Hospital Awaran while three million rupees will be spent on the construction of green spaces. He said that relief amount of 264 million rupees will be given for the rehabilitation of earthquake affectees during next two years.
