Final and Semifinals of 62nd National Hockey Championship will now be played under daylight

Karachi:Final and Semifinals of the ongoing 62^ndNational Hockey Championship at the Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium which were earlier scheduled to be held under floodlights will now be played under daylight.

Tournament Director of the Championship Olympian Qamar Ibrahim issued a statement on Friday that some technical faults which were detected prior to the quarterfinals couldn’t be repaired in time. “Our technicians worked round the clock to repair the faults but found it hard to complete their work in time”, he said.

According to the new schedule the first semifinal between Pakistan ARMY and Pakistan WAPDA will be played at 1 pm. The president National Bank of Pakistan Syed Iqbal Ashraf will be the chief guest. The second semifinal between Pakistan International Airlines and National Bank of Pakistan will be played at 3.30 pm. Collector Customs Tariq Huda will be the chief guest of the second semifinal. Final of the Championship will be played on 10^thJanuary (Sunday) at 3 pm.

Saturday’s Semifinals: ARMY vs WAPDA at 1 pm. PIA vs NBP at 3.30 pm.
