General Hospital is converted into patients lover hospital:Dr. Khalid Mahmood

Lahore:  General Hospital  has converted it into patients lover hospital. Briefing about the performance and services during the previous year according to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to provide better health facilities to every person the administration , it was stated by the Principal PGMI/LGH Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood  on Thursday while presenting annual report before the media.He claimed that that 14,79,682 patients were arrived in emergency and outdoor during the year 2015.

According to the Govt. policy patient were given free medicine worth Rs.31 Crore. People and government employees were benefited from Evening Outdoor shift at LGH. On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif the LGH is providing treatment and diagnostic facilities to the patients on one rupee purchee.

Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood said defining the dialysis system of the hospital he said that this is the only Center in Punjab which is air conditioned and free of cost dialysis of patients is being done. He said that there are separate machines for the patients of hepatitis so that the other patients could not affect from the patients of hepatitis.

He further said about the steps taken by the Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif in fields of modern medical education, Provision of free medicines to the patients and efforts to declare LGH as State of the Arts Institution.

He said that patients arrive in General Hospital from all over the country, adding that department of neurosurgery of the hospital is considered Center of Excellence in the country.

He said that PGMI Punjab is only attached department of LGH in the country where doctors come from all provinces of country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir for specialization and students are equipped with the latest research being done in the field of medicine in the world so that these students could treat patients in a perfect manner. He further said that the students of the institute are imparting their duties in local as well as international hospitals and teaching institutes.
