Lahore: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that Pakistani youth has won laurels throughout the world by the dint of their talent. He said that Punjab government has brought fore the talent and expertise of the nation by adopting the policy of merit and transparency in every sector of life including education and sports.
He said that a team of girl and boy students having expertise in preparation of Pakistani foods will raise Pakistani flag high in international competitions, launched from the platform of College of Tourism and Hotel Management. He said that preparations have been completed for holding national food championship in Pakistan next year.
He expressed these views while addressing launching ceremony of National Culinary team of Pakistan under the aegis of College of Tourism & Hotel Management, today.
General Secretary Chef Association of Pakistan Ahmed Shafique, Waqar Ilyas Khan, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami and other speakers also spoke on the occasion. Membership certificates were given to 12-member team nominated for participation in international culinary competitions.
Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that there is no dearth of talent and capabilities in Pakistani youth, when they get opportunity, they win laurels for the country all over the country. He said that 12 lakh job opportunities will be created for youth due to CPEC. Similarly, he said that there will be need of 20 lakh skilled persons in Middle East during next four years. He said that we should teach and train Pakistani youth in the light of these opportunities.
He said that Punjab government is running the biggest school education system of the world where free education is provided to 1.25 crore children. He said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is personally monitoring education roadmap. He said that Britain has signed agreements for investment of 500 million pounds.
Rana Mashhood said that Pakistani foods are famous throughout the world for their taste but they are attributed to India in a number of countries. He said that Kothum and other institutions should introduce Pakistani foods and chefs effectively at international level. He said that in the first phase, 12-member Pakistani team is visiting Turkey to participate in world competitions of foods.
He said that we have high hopes of our young generation. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, government is making efforts sincerely to rid the country of quagmire of problems and the days are not fare when the country will be put on the road to progress and prosperity.
