Lahore: Punjab Minister for Labour & Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar paid a surprise visit of Social Security Hospital Shahdara along with Commissioner Punjab Employees Social Security Institute (PESSI) Mansoor Qadir, here today.
He visited OPD along with various departments of the hospital including Medical Store and Admin Section. He checked the attendance of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff and observed the arrangements of the cleanliness and provision of medical facilities to the secured labourers and their family members.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction over the cleanliness and medical facilities being provided to the patients in the hospital. He also checked stock medicines in the store room and directed the MS Hospital Dr. Arif Sohail Rana to fulfill the shortage of life saving drugs along with cardiologist and other important vacancies in the hospital for better provision of health services to the labour community.
Later, Minister Labour Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, in a ceremony distributed admission letters among the nominated children of secured workers with full fee concession who have emerged successful for admission in the attached medical colleges of PESSI for MBBS Session-2015-16. Candidates Ozair Arshad, Malja Butt and Noor ul Ain are nominated for admission in University College of Medicines and Dentistry, Haris Zafar, Ashir Iqbal and Muhammad Owais Nawaz will get admission in Islamabad Medical and Dental College while Habiba Iftikhar, Haroon Raza and Shahana Qausar are nominated for BDS Islam Medical and Dental College Sialkot.
Commissioner PESSI Mansoor Qadir, Vice Commissioner Khalid Salim, Director Medical Dr. Nasir Jamal Pasha and parents of successful candidates attended the ceremony.
