Lahore: Zhang Biao from the Chinese Consulate, Lahore, donated today 5 laptops to the institute of Languages, University of the Punjab.
University of the Punjab has entered into a collaboration with Jiangxi university bt which the institute of Languages will host the Confucius Institute funded by the government of China.
Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Vice-Chancellor, University of the Punjab received the laptops from Mr. Biao. This is an effort of Dr Maria Maldonado, Incharge Institute of Languages for the improvement of Chinese language in the city in sync with the directives of his Excellency the Chief Minister.
She hopes to be able to offer the official HSK Chinese language exams at University of the Punjab. Dr. Mujahid Kamran has been extremely supportive if the collaboration -she said, -he is very keen in improving the. Dr. Maria Maldonado recently came back from attending the 10th Confucius institute conference in Shanghai.
Mr. Biao from the consulate said that the donation of 5 laptops is only a small demonstration of support for the institute. In the future, the Consulate will donate teacher and student materials for the establishment of the new Confucius Institute.
