Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated state-of-the-art Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Hospital at Bedian Road on the eve of Quaid-e-Azam Day. He also reviewed modern treatment facilities provided at the hospital and visited the whole building of the hospital.
Addressing a function after inauguration of the hospital, Shahbaz Sharif said that this 60-bed hospital has been completed in two years and latest treatment facilities have been provided to the patients. He said that free of cost treatment and medicines will be provided to the patients while the bed capacity of the hospital will be increased to 100 beds in future.
The Chief Minister also went to modern filter clinic (Emergency) and saw its different sections as well as talked to the doctors and paramedical staff. Later, he inspected center for rehabilitation of the disabled and appreciated the treatment facilities for the patients facing physical disability.
He also inspected modern lab, wards, X-ray room, mother and child health clinic and other medical facilities in the main building of the hospital.
Talking to the staff, the Chief Minister said that this splendid hospital has been set up to provide quality healthcare to the people and he is pleased that the staff of the hospital is alert and polite while there is an excellent system of cleanliness in the hospital.
The Chief Minister said that this hospital is a precious gift for the residents of Bedian and a computerized system has been introduced for inventory control. He said that the hospital will be run on the patron of Recep Tayyip Erdogan Trust Hospital Muzaffargarh and he is confident that the head of the Indus Hospital. Dr. Faisal Bari and his team will operate the hospital in a professional manner which would benefit ailing humanity.
The Chief Minister further said that a modern center for the rehabilitation of disabled persons has also been set up in the hospital. He congratulated the concerned doctors on the establishment of this center. Shehbaz Sharif said that inauguration of this hospital on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Day reflects the determination to serve the ailing humanity and this hospital is another step towards establishment of the Pakistan of the Quaid.
He said that all out efforts are needed to transform Pakistan in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam. He said that provision of easy and inexpensive education and health facilities is essential for realizing the dream of the Quaid. He said that Quaid-e-Azam had created Pakistan so that quality education and health facilities could be available to all citizens.
He said that it is lamentable that Pakistan has not been transformed in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam despite a lapse of 68 years and while treatment and education facilities are available to elite, provision of these facilities to the common man is a big challenge.
However, he said, efforts are being made under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to provide equal facilities to all citizens. He said that modern treatment and education facilities are the basic right of every citizen and the government will ensure this right as Quaid-e-Azam had created Pakistan for this purpose. He said that it is time for practical efforts and the golden principles of honesty and hard work will be adopted to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state.
The Chief Minister said that measures are being taken speedily under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the improvement of economic and social sectors. Therefore, he said, work is in progress expeditiously on several projects in energy, infrastructure and transport sectors under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Referring to Lahore Orange Line Metro Train, the Chief Minister said that it is precious gift of Chinese leadership for people of Pakistan and after completion of this project, 2.5 lakh people will benefit from this facility daily. He further said that the nation has achieved tremendous successes in the war against terrorism by displaying unprecedented unity.
He said that political and military leadership is on one page in the war against terrorism. He said that Pak Army has broken the back of terrorists through Operation Zarb-e-Azb and the nation is determined to completely eliminate terrorism and sectarianism. He said that no effort will be spared for rooting out terrorists and their facilitators and Pakistan will be made a haven of peace.
The Chief Minister thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Trust Hospital Muzaffargarh Mian Muhammad Ahsan, head of Indus Hospital Dr. Faisal Bari and International Red Cross on the provision of modern treatment facilities in the hospital.
He also felicitated Christian employees working in the hospital on Christmas and said that Punjab government shared their joys. Advisor on Health Kh. Salman Rafiq, Assembly Members, newly-elected local bodies’ representatives, Secretary Health, Commissioner Lahore Division and concerned officers were present on the occasion.
