Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while addressing the first convocation of University of Health Sciences stressed the need of collective efforts for improving public health facilities. He asked medical experts to come forward and play their due role in this regard.
The Chief Minister, expressing grief over the incident of death of some children due to diphtheria in Children Hospital, said that a committee has been constituted in this regard and investigation is under process. He said that inquiry report will soon be completed and the persons responsible of negligence will be awarded punishment.
Shahbaz Sharif said that non-purchase of medicine on time despite availability of funds is highly lamentable. He said that such negligence cannot be tolerated. The Chief Minister said that he will not tolerate delay in purchase of medicine at any cost despite availability of resources with the hospital.
