Punjab, Sindh bag two wushu gold medals on opening day

Lahore: Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar has said that Pakistan will become a sports country in near future. The wushu players from all parts of the country are showing great national solidarity by participating in Inter-Provincial Boys and Girls Wushu Championship; he was addressing the opening ceremony of Inter-Provincial Wushu Championship on Tuesday night.

On the first day, Punjab players grabbed two gold and as many silver medals. Sindh also chipped in with two gold medals while Balochistan managed to take a pair of bronze medals.  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had to content with a single bronze medal.Punjab, Sindh bag two wushu gold medals on opening day

The Inter-Provincial Wushu Championship is being organized at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall under the aegis of Sports Board Punjab (SBP).

DG SBP welcomed all the participants of the championship and said that the guest players will enjoy their stay in Lahore. “The way all the provincial teams are playing in various provinces mutual love and understanding will grow among all the units of the federation,” he added.

Earlier, the officials of Pakistan Wushu Federation received the Chief Guest DG SBP Usman Anwar in the opening ceremony. Then all the guest players were introduced to DG SBP.
