The corrupt will be dealt with an iron hand :Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Housing, Communication & Works Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan has said that national resources are a trust of the nation and corrupt people will be dealt with an iron hand. He said that indiscriminate action should be taken against corrupt contractors and no pressure be cared for in this regard.

He expressed these views while presiding over a review meeting regarding implementation of Annual Development Projects 2015-16 today. Secretary Housing and Superintendent Engineers from all over the province attended the meeting.

The Minister said that rural areas should also be consulted for speedy and timely completion of development schemes. He directed to complete work on ongoing development schemes and remove all hurdles in the completion of development projects of current fiscal year. He stressed upon taking emergent basic measures for removing discrepancy between the amounts allocated and the cost of ongoing development projects.

Malik Tanveer Aslam expressed indignation over slowness of the projects regarding annual development program of last financial year. He directed to complete the projects as early as possible. He said that no external pressure be tolerated in this regard. He emphasized upon taking correct decisions regarding the projects delayed due to indispensable reasons. He directed to make contracts with other government departments especially WAPDA. He said that weekly report be prepared regarding progress with other government departments.
