Lahore: Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal has said that history bears testimony to everlasting all-weather friendship between Pakistan and China.
He was addressing a ceremony held in connection with start of first Chinese Language Course, at Management and Professional Development Department (MPDD) here on Tuesday.
The Chief Secretary said that self-reliance by the Chinese people has taken them to the height of progress and prosperity and China has emerged as a great economic superpower in the comity of nations.
He said that China always stood by Pakistan in the hour of need and is extending all kind of economic and technical support to the brotherly country. He mentioned that China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) would usher in a new era of progress and prosperity in Pakistan.
The Chief Secretary said that the two nations have different religions and cultures but people of Pakistan and China are tied in everlasting bond of love and friendship, which is being further strengthened with the passage of time. He added that initiation of Chinese Language Course at MPDD would prove to be a milestone in the promotion of bilateral relations between both the counties.
Addressing the ceremony, Chinese Deputy Consul General Van Da Shoye said that the start of Chinese Language Course reflects the Punjab government’s resolve to take Sino-Pak friendship to new heights.
On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, the MPDD, in collaboration with Punjab Jiangxu Culture Centre, PILAC, has started the Chinese Language Course. Twenty-six officers and officials of Punjab Government, working on CPEC and other projects being completed with the cooperation of China, are participating in the course.
