Lahore: A delegation of London Metropolitan Police (MPS) visited Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) from 9th –
13th of December, 2015. Purpose of the visit was to initiate the connections between MPS
and PSCA owing to the similar nature of work. The delegates also visited the PPIC3 Centre
site which is currently under construction. Managing Director PSCA also briefed the delegates on the PPIC3 Centre HR Structure, Command Structure, SOPs and Contingency Plans under progress by the Research team of the Project Management Unit (PMU). On the second day of their visit, delegation also attended the meeting headed by the Chief Minister himself.
The meeting was also joined by Home Secretary (Police), Inspector General Punjab, Malik Ali Aamir (MD PSCA), Akbar Nasir Khan (COO PSCA) and Ben French (Director DFID) and Ms. Helen Lewis (Head of Rule of Law, British High Commission).
Meanwhile; a consultative meeting with the Divisional SSPs of Lahore City was called to conduct a brainstorming session regarding the objectives and workings of the Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control and Communication Centre (PPIC3).
The meeting agenda was to inform our police representatives regarding the major structural shift, in the form of adoption of IT based solutions, to be undertaken by the Punjab Police.
The PPIC3 is expected to revolutionize the working of Punjab Police and make the cities safer for all its inhabitants. The meeting was attended by the following Divisional SPs:
