Ch Pervaiz Elahi demands capital punishment for the killers of Raja Shoaib

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League -Q senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said as to when those resorting to firing and terrorism in the Punjab will be made accountable, life and property of nobody is safe, people are suffering from insecurity whereas killers, dacoits and terrorists are free.

He demanded that killers of Raja Shoaib, young nephew of our party’s central leader and former Provincial Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja, who was martyred by firing publicly during election in Dhamiyal, Rawalpindi, be apprehended immediately and hanged.

He said this while talking to media along with Major (R) Tahir Sadiq and other party leaders after offering condolences with Muhammad Basharat Raja and his family and “fateha” for the departed soul in Rawalpindi today.

Replying to a question on this occasion Ch Parvez Elahi said that PIA should not be privatized, its employees rendered jobless and their families exposed to financial problems.

Former Chief Minister further said the way that Raja Shoaib was targeted and fired upon, mere taking notice of this by the Chief Minister Punjab is not enough and its follow up and apprehending of all culprits is also necessary. He said nothing happens after notice is taken, as the former Chief Minister he knows this very well that implementation of the orders is also necessary.

He said the state of the rulers of the Punjab can well be judged by the fact that they had held local bodies election only once in eight years and that too in phases because they could not make arrangements for polling on one day, still goondaism and rigging committed is before everyone, during his Chief Minister-ship local bodies election in Punjab were held twice and that too in all districts the same day and still these were orderly and smooth. He questioned as to what governance is that they are not capable of holding peaceful election in some districts.
