Murder of Raja Shoaib in Rawalpindi is open terrorism of N-League:Ch Parvez Elahi

file (2)Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League -Q senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has termed murder of Raja Shoaib, nephew of PML Senior Vice-President and former Provincial Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja, in Rawalpindi as open terrorism of N-League.

In a statement issued here, he has strongly condemned the incident and said that this is highly regrettable that N-Leaguer candidate himself did firing targeting Raja Shoaib but the police has far not arrested anyone, Raja Shoaib was a hockey player and from this locality his cousin was candidate against N-League.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that all restrictions were for the opponents whereas N-Leaguers used lethal weapon openly in the patronage of the police, indulged in goondaism without any check resorting to terrorism, opponent candidates and their supporters were tortured and beaten up publicly, in all these activities Punjab Police patronized and openly supported N-Leaguers instead of providing protection to the citizens.

One person was killed and two others were wounded on Saturday when two rival groups clashed in Rawalpindi, police said.The victim identified as Raja Shoaib, Pakistan Junior hockey team captain, was a nephew of former state minister Raja Basharat.

The deadly clash took place at Union Council 86 between supporters of two independent candidates during polling for the third phase of Local Government elections.

 

Raja Shoaib, an independent candidate for chairman slot sustained bullet injuries when his supporters clashed with the rival groups affiliated to the Raja Asad of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz at one of polling station of UC Dhamial.

The firing incident left three other persons identified as Shahnawaz, Shahroz and Shahbaz sustained injuries.

There were also news of violent clashes received from different parts of Punjab where activists of different political parties clashed during third and final phase of Local Bodies (LB) elections.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of incident of firing between two groups at Dhamiyal, Rawalpindi and sought a report from RPO Rawalpindi.

The Chief Minister ordered that indiscriminate action should be taken against the accused involved in firing incident. He has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of a person due to firing and directed the administration to provide best treatment facilities to the injured.
