Lahore: Spokesman Punjab government Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri has said that third phase of local bodies’ election has completed in a peaceful manner in 12 districts of Punjab and zero tolerance policy of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has proved fruitful.
In a statement, Zaeem Qadri said that the strategy of Punjab government for maintaining law and order throughout the province remained successful. He said that government had imposed a ban on all candidates for depositing their weapons which yielded positive results.
He said that no untoward incident occurred except an incident of death of a person and 13 clashes and a few incidents of quarrel were reported.
Zaeem Qadri said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, police took indiscriminate action irrespective of political affiliation against those involved in quarrel and law enforcement agencies performed their duties efficiently at all polling stations.
