Asadullah Bhutto takes oath as the Chief Election Commissioner of the JI

Asadullah Bhutto takes oath as the Chief Election Commissioner of the JILahore: Deputy Chief of the Jamaat e Islami, Asadullah Bhutto, on Monday, took oath as the Chief Election Commissioner of the JI.

Ameer, JIP, Senator Sirajul Haq, administered the oath of office to him in the presence of central office bearers of the party besides large number of JI workers. Asadullah Bhutto had been nominated for the office by the central Shoora of the JI for redressing the complaints  of the JI workers and office bearers concerning internal elections of the party.

Speaking on the occasion, Sirajul Haq, said that a competent and honest leadership could emerge only through fair, transparent elections held under an impartial election system.

He stressed upon the Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure speedy electoral reforms that had been promised already. Since long., He said that only those parties should be allowed o take part in elections which were holding regular party elections under the supervision of the ECP.  He wondered how could the parties which did not have democracy within their own ranks, talk of democracy in the country.

The ceremony was also attended by JI deputy chiefs Hafiz Muhammad Idrees and Rashid Naseem, Ji Punjab chief Mian Maqsood Ahmed and others.
