Lahore: The precious academic year of male and female students of Lahore Campus of Bahauddin Zakriya University Bahawalpur will not be let wasted at any cost. The precious academic year of girl and boy students will be saved by granting the status of college to Lahore Campus of Bahauddin Zakriya University if the problems will not be resolved. Punishment will be awarded to the elements responsible of irregularities in setting up of the campus, however, boy and girl students are not guilty in this matter.
Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan expressed these views while talking to media. He said that all out measures are being taken for resolving the issues of Lahore Campus of Bahauddin Zakriya University, Bahawalpur.
On the direction of Chief Minister, a committee comprising senior officials of Education Department has been constituted which is considering all aspects for resolving the issue. Rana Mashhood said that 11 such cases including BZU Lahore Campus are under consideration which have been set up in violation of rules and regulations of HEC Punjab.
He said that Punjab government is paying full attention to higher education. He said that 37 new degree colleges are being set up throughout the province whereas provision of missing facilities in existing 58 colleges is in the basic agenda of the department of this year.
Replying to a question, the Provincial Education Minister said that Chief Minister Punjab has allocated a huge amount of 21 billion rupees for completion of Lahore Knowledge Park which reflects his interest in the promotion of higher education.
