Chief Secretary directs timely completion of ongoing development projects in Punjab

Lahore: Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal has directed that ongoing development projects in the province be completed within the stipulated time.

He was chairing a meeting of Administrative Secretaries’ Committee at Civil Secretaries here on Wednesday. The meeting discussed in detail matters relating to Annual Development Programme, Citizen Feedback Model, building by-laws and cases of pension and departmental inquiries.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that several development projects are under way in the province. Timely completion of these projects is priority of the government, he added. He mentioned that the Citizen Feedback Model is the best source of getting public opinion regarding government institutions. He directed that all possible steps be taken to improve this model, which is helping address people’s complaints.

The Chief Secretary ordered heads of departments to conduct survey of their building for repair and reconstruction work. He directed the  authorities to ensure strict implementation of building by-laws. He also ordered early disposal of cases of pension and disciplinary proceedings. The meeting was attended by administrative secretaries of different departments and officers concerned.
