Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal):Lt Col (Retd) Javed Iqbal, spokesperson of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society has said that during the tenure of General Hamid Gul as PESS President, the issue of one rank one pension was on top priority, Lt Col (Retd) Inam ur Rahim, head of the PESS judicial committee, was tasked by Gen Hamid Gul to prepare and file a constitutional petition in the Supreme Court for this discriminating action of the Government.
Few meeting of PESS Judicial committee were also held in the Head Office in this regard but with the death of Gen Hamid Gul many important matters also died as no General was ready to hold the fort of PESS after the death of Gen Hamid Gul because he was expending about Rs. 3lacs per month to run PESS organization.
He said some ex-servicemen had requested to hold a meeting of PESS in Rawalpindi to move forward and break this stalemate situation. “We are disappointed from PESA also because they are not interested in the welfare of the Ex-Soldiers and their direction of efforts is towards their self projection” he further said while talking to media persons.
He called upon PESS members to offer their comments in this regard. After going through the comments and in consultation with senior and sincere members of PESS some course of action would be evolved to run the organization in letter and spirit.
