Ban has been imposed on the assembly of five or more persons near polling stations

Lahore: Ban has been imposed on the assembly of five or more persons near polling stations in the second phase of local bodies’ elections in Punjab. Five or more persons cannot be gathered in the limits of 300 meter near any polling station during polling and counting.

Moreover, ban has also been imposed on taking out processions and rallies for celebrating victory. Similarly, there will also be ban on displaying and carrying of weapons and aerial firing. This ban will also be applicable on licensed weapons.

Home Secretary Punjab has issued this order under section 144 (6) of PPC 1898. This order will come into force immediately and applicable till December 12.
