Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated Principal and neurosurgeon Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood on the completion of the first year of successful operations of Parkinson’s disease in Lahore General Hospital.
He said that the treatment of the patients of Parkinson’s disease is continuing successfully in the first DBS Operation Theater of the country at Lahore General Hospital and the recovery of 20 patients in the first year of the setting up of the center through the modern treatment method of DBS is a big achievement of the center.
The Chief Minister said that as a result of availability of modern treatment facilities to the patients of Parkinson’s disease in Pakistan due to the efforts of Punjab government, they will not have to go abroad for medical care.
Shahbaz Sharif said that he is pleased that modern treatment facilities have been ensured in neurosurgery ward of Lahore General Hospital. He also commended the efforts of Principal Postgraduate Medical Institute and neurosurgeon Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood and his team for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
