Lahore: The quarter finals of President Gold Cup International Squash Championship-2015 were played at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad today. Omar Abdel Meguid, Nasir Iqbal, Todd Hamity and Karim Al Fathi made it to the semi finals of the Championship.
The first quarter final was a nail biter between Egyptian Omar Abdel Meguid and Farhan Mahboob from Pakistan. Omar won the first game with the game score of 11/6 but Farhan came back in the match by winning the next two games with the game score 12/10 and 11/9.
The fourth game was won by Omar with the game score 11/8. Omar dominated in the final game as well and easily won it with the game score 11/4. The match lasted for 78 minutes. In the second quarter final Nasir Iqbal outclassed Jordanian Ahmad Al-Saraj in over half an hour match and won the match in straight games with the game score 11/6,11/6,11/7.
Third quarter final was played between Todd Hamity (USA) and Tayyab Aslam (Pak). The match was closely contested but the American managed to win the match in straight games with the game score 11/7,12/10,11/8. The match lasted for 38 minutes.
The fourth quarter final was played between Karim Al Fathi and Danish Atlas. Both the players displayed superb stroke play but Karim Al Fathi managed to win the match with the game score 11/6,12/10,4/11,12/10. The match lasted for 69 minutes.
