Lahore: As part of on-going PN biennial Exercise Sea Spark 2015, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah today visited the Sir Creek Area in order to witness the operational readiness/preparedness of deployed troops. Owing to intricate nature of the terrain comprising marshes, swamps and unpredictable waterways, this area is being defended by Pak Marine Force.
Admiral Zakaullah while visiting various forward posts also interacted with the Special Services Group SSG(N) and Pak Marines deployed in this area. A detailed briefing on various operational aspects encompassing tactical planning and execution of plans was given to the Naval Chief.
While interacting with the personnel, the Naval Chief stressed upon the importance of this strategically important area and role of Pakistan Navy in safeguarding country’s vital maritime interests. He expressed his utmost satisfaction on the operational preparedness and lauded the professional conduct and dedication of deployed PN troops/units in carrying out the task of defending these critical frontiers/borders of the country.
The Naval Chief was accompanied by Commander Coast Rear Admiral Syed Bashir Ahmed and Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff Operations, Rear Admiral Kaleem Shaukat.
