ZHOB: National Highways and Motorway Police West Zone organized ‘Road Safety Workshop’ to acquaint civil society about road safety tips and better awareness about traffic rules here on Friday.
District Police Officer Zhob Zahid Afzal, DPO Sherani Bashir Asar, Assistant Commissioner Zhob Ali Ejaz, AC Sherani Zafar Goya, Inspector Police Ghafoor Khan Mandokhail, political parties’ leaders, representatives of civil society and students in a large number attended the workshop.

Inspector Fazal-ur-Rehman and Inspector Aslam delivered lectures on road safety to acquaint the participants with traffic laws and regulations and briefed them on the history of the force, its achievements and causes of accidents.
They said that ‘Road Safety Week’ is being celebrated in the country by arranging safety training workshops, seminars and walks to aware the masses, so the traffic accidents could be reduced.

Efficient public service delivery and rule of law is our hallmark. NH&MP officers render prompt assistance to road users and also ensure timely help to commuters in distress. Honesty, courtesy and help are our core values.” They said.
NH&MP was doing its utmost efforts to maintain traffic discipline and special speed checking cameras were being used to reduce over speeding practices. They added.
Every year thousands of people lose their precious lives in road accidents on highways. Accidents cause of death and disability in people between 15-29 years of age. Zhob-Quetta section would soon been handed over to motorway police to minimize the death toll due to fatal traffic accidents. Officials said.
While addressing DIG West Zone Ehsan Manzoor said that they will continue efforts for safe road environment and NH&MP has been holding such workshops to inculcate traffic sense among people. He stated that NH&MP has emerged as a corruption-free institution and the entire strength of Motorway Police strictly adheres to virtues of honesty, curtsey and help.
“Honesty is our faith, Courtesy is our hallmark and Helping people is our pride – imprinted in the minds of the MP Officers.” He said.
About the performance of NH&MP he said that we not only helped to establish a disciplined traffic system but also reduced the ratio of accidents.
“It is the duty of every citizen to abide by the traffic rules and follow the road safety precautionary measures to save not only his own life but the lives of other road users as well.” DIG said.
DPO Zahid Afzal, AC Ali Ejaz, Dawood Khan Mandokhail, Malik Ehsan-ul-Haq Mandokhail and Haji Ubaidullah Mardanzai appreciated the performance, professionalism and merit of NH&MP and termed it a pride of the nation.
