Lahore: Higher Education Commission girls won the 3rd National Women Junior Judo Championship, organized by Sports Board Punjab at the Nishtar Park Gymnasium Hall on Thursday.
HC with four gold medals stood at the top while KPK was placed second with three gold medals and Fata was third in the championship.
Misha, Mariam Rafiq, Sameera Awan, Sayeda, Haseena, Ayesha and Kashaf Javed won medals. Punjab Judo Association President Asif Iqbal gave away the medals to the winning players.
Asif Iqbal, President of Punjab Judo Association, while addressing the prize distribution ceremony, thanked Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar for extending vital cooperation for the smooth holding of National Girls Judo Championship. “The game of judo is quite popular among women and it’s gaining more popularity in the rural areas of the country,” he added.
Secretary General Pakistan Judo Federation, Masood Ahmad, The President of Punjab Judo Association, Vice President of Pakistan Judo Federation, Foreign Judo Coach, Sajjad Kazemi, Secretary General of Pakistan Referees and Judges Association, Ameer Mukhtiar, and the Secretary of Pakistan Women Judo Association, Sara Khan was also present.
