Lahore: Central leader of PML(N) Hamza Shahbaz MNA has said that after success in NA-122 , the thumping victory of Muslim League in local bodies election is the proof of public service and commitment of the party.
Hamza Shahbaz talking to a delegation of Electronic Media Producers Association led by Naeem Saqib which met him in Model Town, here day. Information Secretary Imran Ali Goraya was also present on the occasion.
He said that despite all provocations and allegations, PML-N leaders and workers observed social norms in accordance with the instructions of the party leadership while those elements who were involved in negative politics of sit-ins and allegations were defeated even from their home union councils.
He said it is a fact that truth always wins. He said that present leadership is making sincere efforts for the resolution of problems being faced by the country which is proved by the election results.
Hamza Shahbaz said that media plays a key role in the formation of political and social trends. He said that the role of electronic media has greatly increased due to its access to every house. He said that media promotes national thinking through its positive role and there is a need for maintaining respect and social values.
Hamza Shahbaz listened to the problems of Producers Association delegation and assured his full cooperation in the provision of a separate office and performance of its professional responsibilities. He said that producers play a vital role in the programmes of electronic media and there should be a separate fund for them for providing help in case of illness or any other problem.
Naeem Saqib, Atif Chaudhry, Farooq Majeed, Rao Shahid, Irum Sherazi, Aftab Chaudhry and Anjum Farooq who comprised the delegation said that the persons associated with media want that journalists should safeguard national interest but unfortunately some tv channels disregard social values and interest only for the sake of rating.
The delegation thanked Hamza Shehbaz for giving a sympathetic hearing and congratulated him on the success in local bodies’ elections.
